Mark de la Iglesia
Mark de la Iglesia is a strategist, catalyst, and advocate who is passionate about promoting accountable and effective governance. Through a two-decade career spanning government, civil society, and philanthropy, he has combined a strategic and critical eye with emotional intelligence and a collaborative leadership style to tackle complex governance and policy challenges. In the past decade he has led Freedom House’s non-partisan analysis and communications about US democracy, shaped an initiative to build public trust in American elections on the political right, and led multi-million-dollar global grantmaking portfolios on anti-corruption and climate action at the Open Society Foundations. Mark started his career on Capitol Hill, as a legislative director in the US House of Representatives and later as director of House Affairs at the US State Department. He has degrees from Northwestern and Princeton Universities, and lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two young kids.
